Worth highlighting that an iPhone 11 at 20% is an “I should charge this at some point in the next couple of hours” situation, where most Android phones at 20% I an “I need a cable NOW” situation.https://twitter.com/reneritchie/status/1190724388435439617 …

Actually my galaxy at 20% lasts a few hours so it's probably just a pixel issue

Yeah it’s not, I use all of them :)

Can you go more in depth about how each OS reports battery % (why they’re not the same)?

I’ll have to go dig up some of my old notes, but I’ve had this conversation with several engineers with Samsung, Moto, etc. and they described the way Android handled battery reporting as functionally different.

I get about an hour or two depending on what I'm doing. Could be longer, usually depends on what I'm doing l, but yeah I totally get that Android has some issues on how long it lasts and what it's actually reporting

It's pretty linear from what I've seen. Do you have any evidence to support your claims ?

Just as on iOS you might have 10% left but in reality is more like 5% because it just starts to go down really fast. I've seen this happen too much

I can't say that I have this experience on my Pixel 3a XL. I've laid down for bed with 20% and woke up still able to consume content before having to charge. Even scrolling the socials is doable. Guess it just depends.

It’s part of the optimised charging and how’s it’s reported as you say. On my older IOS device the first 20% of battery useage happens in 10minutes flat
