I know a fair few vegans/vegetarians who scoff at meat replacements, and I somewhat get it, ethically you shouldnt be killing animals for food when you dont need to, but on the other hand, anything that helps transition to a more plant based diet is good no? I've heard similar

It’s a fairly even split for me. I’ve got friends who are fine with it but don’t enjoy the taste of meat so the substitutes aren’t their thing, and friends who just like knowing most places offer SOMETHING that isn’t just a mediocre salad.

Speaking as someone who adores meat, when the meat substitutes taste the same, I will swap in a heartbeat. Impossible 2 is good enough right now for me to remove real minced meat from my diet

I made a scotch egg with sausage substitute this week and the whole family loved it. We’re pretty close.
