cancel culture doesn't exist. It's an excuse for people to play victim when they get in trouble. Putting the onus on the actual victims to prove abuse is what keeps people from coming forward and keeps this industry toxic

I'm not into labels and catch phrases so genuinely wondering - what do you call/think about things like trying to hold people accountable for ten year old socmed posts? I mainly lay the blame at the individual journalist doing such things but there's a reason they do it.

Outrage porn is very much a different thing in my eyes, but I get the similarities. In many of the examples I imagine you’d lean on here, there really isn’t a “victim” to point to.
