The take has zero to do with how good/bad the solo movies were. It's about the use of the characters in MCU films when they don't outright own those characters. Also, this is a tweet among many Sony vs Disney/Marvel tweets. I'd suggest doing a search to get full context.

In what way are the individual films not relevant? Hulk has a Phase One film. It was awful. Weaving his stories into other characters creates a way better overall story. See: Ragnarok. Spider-Man would be fantastic if that same thing we're to happen, which is extremely unlikely

I didn’t dislike the Edward Norton hulk. His was the best out of all of them, IMO.
