It's the platform. watchOS benefits so much from tight integration with the Apple ecosystem; Wear OS should, but doesn't, and Samsung has no platform.

Of all the smart watches I've used (many), I like my Galaxy Watch the best... I don't daily an iPhone and don't like square watch displays, or watches that don't always display the time, so the Apple watch is out, and Wear OS is a mess! As for the others, they're too specialized.

Yep, I wear a Galaxy Watch almost every day. Wear OS has better notifications, but it's laggier, Assistant only works half the time, and the apps aren't much better

Yeah, I far prefer my Watch Active to any Wear OS device, even the Fossil Sport, which I really want to like.

Chiming in for Team Fitbit here. The Versa is still my favorite smartwatch overall. Probably has a lot to do with my lifestyle, but I can't bring myself to use another watch now.

I was very excited about my Fitbit until I tried to train my swimming with it.

Oh man. That bad? I bet there's nothing better than Garmin for that stuff.

It was a deeply frustrating experience, and then didn't work for me at all in the ocean. Relies too much on measuring the wall kick.

Conversation was on "wearable" and I never used the word smartwatch. I actively switch between Garmin/Apple/AndroidWear/Gear Fit/Fitbit on the regular. Pretty sure I know exactly what I'm using and it's a fitness band. But thanks for contributing nothing of value on purpose.

What better/smarter wearable is there than a smartwatch? Earbuds/headphones are wearables too, but the thread evolved about us talking about smartwatch ecosystems.
