Saw the new Pixel 4 video of it being unlocked by a face (great, fine), and then uses *G E S T U R E S* to change the next song, thereby forcing someone to expend more energy than a thumb sliding across a screen or tapping a button. Probs a nice accessibility feature, but UGH, no

I realize I'm pooping on this before it's actually in people's hands, but every time we introduce arm movement gestures (Kinect Microsoft Desktop, Microsoft OS PC touch screens) we see people get muscle soreness and...it's not a great user experience, almost ever. Not. A. Fan.

Heard an example of "change songs with the phone mounted to car dash" okay that's not bad. Hopefully great for folks without a ton of limb mobility/coordination too. Excited about the accessibility side of it but for majority of users it's not a good core interact.

Also something I'd use in the kitchen, instead of getting grease on my screen

See but in the kitchen I'd just "SIRI play next song" so I didn't have to even get close enough to fling grease near my screen. I feel like voice still works in 99% of the "gesture" use cases, is easier, more natural. (Mute folks can't use that feature, thus, accessibility).

I find most voice things struggle in my kitchen. Once I have more than one pan doing something, the noise level causes problems. And even then, voice is still more time/steps than waving my hand.

Yeah can see the water/sizzle being white noise that would kill voice recognition. Russel, I will give you this gesture use! 10 points for Hollydore! ;)
