It would feel like going to WebMD for a dr's visit. All the specialized equipment can be replaced with an app? I can see it working for light prescriptions, but with astigmatisms and other defects I would have my doubts.

This would be incredible. As someone who gets lots of anxiety in doctor’s offices, I would love to do this from home.

Don't think I could do it unless something like Project Tango came back and worked. Make sure I'm EXACTLY the right distance from the camera/sensor, etc. It's too exacting a science to trust to "here, hold this about a foot from your face".

I have to agree with David here. There’s a lot of objectivity and decision making. But, for me, if it’s accurate, I wouldn’t care.

I thought staring at a screen was damaging to the eyes? Hey, as long as I don't have put my head onto a medieval contraption built to instill a permanent sense of failure into my ethos by challenging me to an impossible-to-win duel against a burst of high pressured air, I'm game.

Maybe they can detect whether my vision is 20/20 or not, but they can't check pressure or status of retina... I need all that stuff and worry if people took workarounds that they'd be unaware of deeper problems outside of just how fuzzy their vision is
