Lots of folks getting to try Stadia and Project xCloud for the first time this week, and the reactions to both seem universally positive. But the demos of these services are happening in the most ideal environments, on purpose. So, cool, we know they work in perfect conditions.

I suppose it's better than not working in perfect conditions. We've seen tech reveals where the tech doesn't work at all.

Yes, a failure in this environment would have been disastrous

The XCloud demo was running to the San Fran data centre 400 miles away.

I'm not sure what you think this means. 400 miles is not a significant distance for a network demo, especially in one of the most technically developed parts of the country.

How do they look on a 65" 4K screen? That's how I play most. Phil Spencer sounded like it was really years down the road to have big screen streaming that is competitive with local hardware, his honesty is refreshing.

Network performance will get there. Interesting question: what uses cases beyond gaming does this remote compute/GPU architecture plus local compute/display/controller enable? How might this revolutionize mobile in general? High capacity, low latency network changes the world.
