Worth highlighting again: This guy has zero problem calling out Steam and Google for rates he considers unfair, but has never once said a bad thing about Apple's rates on the App Store. And he won't, because there are no alternatives on iOS for Epic to attempt to exploit.

Fascinating seeing the transition from carrot to stick in verbal strategy. Wasn't honestly expecting it this soon. Their burn rate must be higher than it appears.

It's a weird flex. Even with the "competition" steam is still cleaning up. Valve still isn't taking epic seriously and all he's doing is really just threatening the consumers. Valve will lower what they take in if it actually affects their bottom line, which it isn't yet I bet.

Valve isn't engaging because it's lose-lose for them. Either they lower their revenue cut to 12% and make no money or engage in the exclusivity arms race which is hated by consumers. I think they are being smart in simply not engaging here.
