"Why wasn't this Galaxy Fold problem caught in testing?" Two things: 1. Samsung has been working on this tech for almost a decade at this point. Someone knew this was an issue, just not the potential scale. 2. It was caught in testing. We are all paying to test this phone.

You look into the Huawei Mate yet? Seems they may have come up with a more functional design.

Putting the frame parts on the outside is definitely not better. There's no way that plastic display makes it a whole year without looking like an arcade machine from the 70s

They shoulda gone with a split screen approach until the flex display tech was ready imo.

I love the concept- but yeah, pulling it off is a different story. I miss having a tablet sometimes for the screen size.

It's interesting to see the difference between the release of the HoloLens and the Galaxy Fold. Microsoft was clear that HoloLens 1 was a developer tool. I wonder if Samsung had taken that approach if it'd be better or if people would say they were cowards.

You kinda have to admire their ambition. In a way, they succeeded in concept. Execution will take a few years.
