When I started here, Mobile Nations had a grand total of five women on staff out of at least 30. And three of them were freelance, if memory serves. People in management positions would say things like "gosh we really need some ladies here" but no actual movement happened.

When I started VRHeads, only 40% of the staff was male. It wasn't something that got talked about, because we were all too busy doing cool shit and having fun. But it was a thing. When VRHeads was absorbed into the other sites, that team got spread out across the other teams.

I've been in change of hiring for a little over a year, and while I'm not responsible for every person we bring on board, there have been a lot of positive changes. Mobile Nations not only has WAY more women working for the company now, but thrive in leadership roles.

Everyone I work with knows we have a lot more work to do here, but it's a constant conversation with action behind it now instead of the occasional "hey wouldn't it be great if" comment. And we are absolutely a better company for it.

You're too hard on yourself. Granted that's part of what makes you good at what you do. If diversity is important (it is) then what you look like is irrelevant. You're doing good work. Crow about it every now and then.

P.S. Your focus on diversity shows in more than just women on staff. I'm so glad to see how you & the company focus on diversity broadly, incl women as well as racial minority and other minority groups. I certainly don't want to draw attention away from women today. Just say
