I keep doing this thing where I get unnecessarily excited about something, and I pour that excitement into every aspect of my life. And as long as I can keep riding that high, everything is great. But something inevitably happens to that excitement, and I slam into a brick wall.

I'm 100% this way. You are not alone.

I can be the same way. My advice: Just enjoy the ride, brother.

I think I used to be more like this. Life has thrown a TON of curveballs in the past decade though, invariably, many things did not, and will not, turn out how I envision. I now welcome this challenge! If anything it allows me to do the "next" thing that much better.

There's a strong chance you can use your MO to your advantage. There will always be those low points, but the graph trends up!

Being excited is great, but when it doesn't work out, I just try to focus on little things that make me happy instead. "Oh, I'm not gonna get into this concert tonight, but at least I talked to some great people in line."

If that doesn't cheer you up some I'll post the clip of the scene from 'Parenthood' where granny talks about the Rollercoaster of Life. Roll with the punches bro...

I feel you on this one. My environment today barley lets me get off the ground before hitting that wall as well. I find I’m overly emotional about things. Some of it is passion and some of it is probably frustration I’ve locked away.
