"They should just remove Facebook from the app stores." Y'all get that the browser still exists, right? And most folks would actually have LESS protection from having they're data slurped up if they were only using the mobile browser for Facebook? Can't actually ban Facebook.

There are definitely frameworks more difficult to get Safari to access than a standalone app. Also, the ability to run in the background.

Not unrelated: Being able to have this kind of conversation with actual members of Congress is the future I want to live in.

Having used FB in mobile safari vs. the app I can tell you my FB use is *way down* because the "mobile experience" FB serves up in a browser is utterly atrocious. And yeah, once I close that tab access is over with. That's relevant, IMHO.

I've had a similar experience, though in Chrome Mobile you can still get notifications from Facebook even with the tab closed which was less great.
