I don’t think anyone is saying that. We are saying that we expect Apple to keep us safe from developers shipping unethical software. They need to use that position of power to stop this. Also, accessing Facebook through Safari allows far less info to be collected.

Fully agree with a proactive instead of reactive approach to handling unethical developers. As for data, Safari can be given access to all of the same sensors. It's not full time access like we give with most apps, but it's there. And on Android, full time access is possible.

I promise you if Facebook’s app got banned they’d come begging for change. Browser-only in a phone is death.

(But Apple won’t)

I'm shocked and appaled that people scream bloody murder at their data being slurped but can't actually understand how the internet bloody function. No wonder companies have a field day gathering info on us.

You can't ban Facebook, for sure, but you can make it harder for people to get there. How many people actually know about the mobile version of Facebook? You can't ban them, but you can make it harder for people to get there/use it.

At lease ban them from the App Store for a few months. Show them that they're not scared of kicking them all together.
