A Ben Sisko/Natima Lang ticket would I think be absolutely killer, assuming you could keep Moonlightgate under wraps. It gets around accusations of a pro-Bajor bias AND tempers his war record.

A Cardassian would probably be a tough sell after the war but she was an outspoken dissident, and probably had her citizenship revoked during Dominion rule.

It's so easy to forge records on these old Cardassian data rods, I think even without the inherent bias accusations it'll be an uphill climb. What they need is a strong endorsement from a Federation-friendly neutral party.
