I love you but the Pixel 3's speakers are louder and fuller than the iPhone XS's. Both of Google's face up which is probably why the Pixel doesn't sound as good on this test.

Looks better but I don't think that's fair since those speakers are downward-firing from the bottom of the phone, not the front, and aren't firing towards the surface the phone is resting on. That air hitting the table matters.

Yes. I agree. The design is what matters. Specifically, the design which makes my hand vibrate noticeably more is bad.

For starters you're shooting sound straight down on Pixel, and the bigger speaker in iphone shoots the sound out the bottom. Pixel sound radiates down and back up.
