I think it's because 'design' people think red, which is a better color for night is "bad" whereas blue is "good". This is why I just throw some tape over the light these days to remove it entirely.. or a damn good Sharpie.

We no longer need a light in our bathroom at night due to the f**king brilliant bright, flashing blue light from my electric toothbrush. I can see it from across the hall in my bedroom.

It's really bizarre that companies do this. And so many of them do! Clearly not actually testing in real world environment. Reminds me of all the wireless chargers which would emit an obnoxiously loud beep when phone is placed on it. Instantly unusable in bedroom.
