James Armstrong, who played the ghost/the player king/the gravedigger was hilarious. Not as the ghost though. Rightfully so. I recommend seeing it!

A bunch of the songs they played before it started I had already associated with “Hamlet” (or characters from it) in my head, with “Blackbird,” “I Can’t Decide,” and “Only The Good Die Young,” to name a few, and some I’d never heard before.

The Hamlet/Horatio dynamic could be better--that’s another relationship that’s established well in the play, but Horatio didn’t get a lot of screentime in this one, regrettably. Of course, “Hamlet" is a Very Long Play and like every scene is good, so you gotta take something out.

In Shakespeare actually establishes a good relationship between Laertes and Ophelia that makes it all the more tragic when Ophelia dies, and this production is really good at showing that.
