  11. Fantastic new article from Joan Greenbaum on the rich history of Computer People for Peace in the 1960s - and what their approach of "questioning technology" can teach us now

  14. So far everything is playing out as worst case scenario many of us warned of in 2016. My goal is not to be alarmist but to act w/ informed historical perspective. The rise of fascist regimes most often results in mass murder & there’s not reason to assume this will be different.

This is a systemic problem for drivers. If they use the restroom at the airport, they get ticketed. If they ask to use the toilet in ppls homes, they are put on blast. And even the restaurants who benefit from their labor won’t let them use the bathroom. It is so dehumanizing.

I’ve been reading ’s latest book (amazing) for my historiography class. Painfully relevant for a post-Brexit era in which there’s a concerted effort to conceal the long history of racist reasoning informing the latest “populist backlash” by erasing people like Carby...

Imperial intimacies, a tale of two islands. Recent book by Hazel Carby
