I'm happy somebody is pursuing practical aspects of invsive BCI with a scale in mind
This talk made me think (above reading and stimulating visual cortex) about stadium metaphor that I also like to use
listening to neurons is more like 1d watching players mouth movements rather

than listening to what they say - this is a too low level as only integration of signals from multiple neurons describes "manifolds" of meaningful activity/thoughts
I'm not sure why it occurred only now to me
that's why LFP and other scales are so important for full picture

neurons interact on multiple temporal scales (eg glia, LTP,..) and size scales as with eg volume conduction and neurotransmitters concentration levels outside of synapse
As with most systems, the same response changes meaning with different context

neuralink is in a unique position to create a mulitiscale device not changing too much in its construction, just a few LFP electrodes would do the magic
