    So often mid level engineers write really terse/clever code because they’ve been told this is what proves they’re an expert. That by knowing these pieces of syntax, they’re official now. We can go a long way towards removing that bias with a focus on readability!

    A reminder that you should be careful sharing crash dumps. As well as containing a memory snapshot from your app they also contain environment variables that often include cloud/API access keys. Definitely never attach them to public GitHub issues.

    Rubberduck uses Castle Windsor with convention-based rules: "it just works", and it's all actual code, so the DI config is all strongly-typed. The IoC container is just there doing its job, rarely needing any adjustments.

    Twitter isn't the best place to have a nuanced debate, which the current fracas for and against DI Containers demonstrate. I actually grant that a case can be made for using a container; I've just never seen such usage in the wild.

    Yes, Dependency Injection can be done in VBA. Property Injection, via factory methods. DI is a language-agnostic concept that doesn't *require* classes with parameterized constructors.

    The one nice thing about there not being any DI/IoC frameworks for , is that we get to learn "Dependency Injection" in its purest form 😇

    What do you think about the term 'Vanilla DI' to describe Dependency Injection without frameworks, libraries, etc.? (I've been using 'Pure DI' for the last five years, but I really like 'Vanilla DI' 👌) /via
