  2. Can YOU help? Have you got a paper copy of the from today? Our friend & the lady in the attic at the Town House since the 1960s. Diana Joll had an obituary published & we’d love a paper copy of the article. Can anyone help? Please retweet.

The process and the product are both important. By allowing people to see the process, they can better understand the past and how it relates to the present, in the same way that a curatorial approach to a finished product allows one to understand the past. Both work.

How dull. It's a piece of living history and I'm very jealous that I live so far away from seeing it evolve. If he wants a finished house tour I believe have a site nearby.

He obviously suffers from a lack of imagination... Carry on as you are, the journey is as interesting, if not more so, than the finished result.

The process is much more fascinating. The building is literally a living history museum. It is interesting to see the building methods used in the past.

The process is extremely important. Once it’s restored it is then just upkeep.

  16. Good point Justine. When we take visitors round we explain the restoration process in detail. It's our passion after all. I guess it's just not for everyone. That's ok of course. I think, judging by your comment, that you get it :)

  18. I think it’s time we confessed. We are history geeks. We work in a dusty old house in Hove. When you walk through the door you can time travel. Are you like us? History mad?

  19. A visitor didn't get it. At the end of a tour he said: 'maybe you shouldn't show the house until you are finished'. Was he right? Is the result more interesting than the journey? Or are you more interested in the process? Do let us know below 👇
