The difference is that inetd composed the execution state, whilst here systemd passed the file descriptor upon an activation request and composes the execution context the way you have it configured. Now this is something inted did not do, but I agree that does not mean one \

cannot make it execute a run script to drop privileges, set up the execution context, and so on, or possibly pass the file descriptor to a launcher process itself.
