    Startup founders: you can romanticize about the most-lovable product winning. Hell, you can even take a substantial chunk of a market on the back of being universally loved by users. But you'll hit a point as you go all the way up-market where 's rule is universal.

    Recalling when I tweeted that Slack was not a defensible product and one of their VCs blocked me for it. 🙃 ✅ Discord for the casual/non-corporate chat. ✅ Microsoft Teams for corporate chat.

    Tony Piloseno used his wildly viral TikToks as part of a digital marketing pitch to help Sherwin-Williams to appeal to younger members of Gen Z. It worked, he gained over 1.2M followers mixing paint. When Sherwin-Williams found out they fired him.

    The Trump campaign has eliminated the hotline it established so people could report alleged instances of voter fraud after it was flooded with prank calls. They're now directing people to a website where they can submit complaints through a digital form.

    It's amazing how rare this is, especially given how many of these were due to special circumstances. Bush lost because of Perot. Ford wasn't elected in the first place. Hoover, Great Depression. Taft had Roosevelt and Bull Moose. JQA wasn't really elected fairly the first time.

    I find it crazy how many organizations have blocked Zoom for security reasons despite its excellent track record, but still run WordPress, Windows, Apache, Office, and Adobe Flash. CISOs driven by PR and gut feel vs. actual data.
