    1. Kelly Lee Owens - Inner Song Agonising wait from first tease to actual release, this turned out to be well worth the wait. Gorgeously atmospheric techno, quality songcraft, a Radiohead cover and only bloody John Cale! Best LP of the year.

    6. Psychic Markers - Psychic Markers This years best motorik propelled electronica. Kraftwerk, Human League and Sun O))) all vying for position on an LP packed with hooks. Enveloping Cycles is straight Rother. Bloody marvellous.

    8. Daniel Avery - Love + Light Nothing here that hasn’t been done before but he does it so well! Proper night out/comedown LP with rich electronic Enoesque ambience and dance floor bangers. Nice!

    9. Pottery - Welcome to Bobby’s Motel Coming on like a Little Creatures era Talking Heads, with the hooks of the B-52’s and Parquet Courts vocals this is a cowbell fuelled ride to Funkytown. Could be weighed down by it’s references but comes up smelling of (nothing but) flowers.

    10. Ezra Furman - Sex Education Original Soundtrack No, not a ‘proper’LP but lots of new tracks and a smattering of classics. Has the Pop nous that’s been missing from his last few efforts and is far more cohesive than anything since Perpetual Motion People. Chipper!
