If you could teach an entire course focused on a single year between 29 & 2000 CE, which one would you choose? You can't have: 476, 570, 742, 814, 1215, 1492, 1517, 1776, 1789, 1815, 1837, 1861, 1863, 1914, 1917, 1918, 1939, 1945, or 1989. And NO to years ending in 00.

1948 could be a nice one, and a nice follow-up to 1848 too, it genuinely felt like the whole world was about to go socialist - which was more or less what a lot of people wanted a century before.
