Trans youth and adults face high rates of gatekeeping, making the process of transition onerous and dangerous, WHILE facing enormous discrimination in cis society and in many LGB community spaces. Just being LGB is easier. We know because we tried.

And your whole narrative ignores that most trans people aren't straight. If less than 20% of trans people are straight, then less than 20% of trans people would be monosexually gay if forced to stay in their birth assignment.

I assure you, If I could just be a "straight" girl it'd be infinitely easier than constantly fighting myself and transphobes for years but, you know, it's whatever.

I realize this is probably confusing in context, I'm transmasc and bi, but I also figure that if I were cis I'd probably never have figured out I was bi, being a straight cis girl would be MUCH easier than navigating identity, dysphoria, and homo/transphobias.

whats the wait time, to get even just an APPOINTMENT at UK gender clinics? 1.5 years? 2+ years? im sure trans people are being 'rushed' through their transitions by lazy healthcare providers
