You've got to be shitting me... One of our office chairs turns off monitors... we couldn't believe it, but we have it on tape. Surprisingly, there even is a known issue for it: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/738618-display-intermittently-blanking-flickering-or-los …pic.twitter.com/E57ApzR0Mi

I'm pretty impressed by the range btw, jumping on the chair that final time, 7-8 meters 🤣

We had a similar issue in our office (not sure if linked to chairs), this device (EDID emulator) seemed to fix it: https://www.amazon.com/Pass-Through-splitters-Extenders-fit-Headless-3840x2160/dp/B0722NVQHX …

I have exactly this problem at home. When I stand up my monitor flickers and often I hear the device disconnected/connected Windows system sound. I think it’s a static discharge.

Yeah, see the link I posted, it is EMI (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_interference …) and there is a known issue: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/738618-display-intermittently-blanking-flickering-or-los … "When people stand or sit on gas lift chairs, they can generate an EMI spike which is picked up on the video cables, causing a loss of sync."

So standing desks are strictly prohibited at your office?

We just removed that chair from the affected monitors, some chairs interfere with some monitors 🤣 we actually stand a lot 👌🏼

Does it also happen if you pound on the table? I find it hard to believe its an Electro Static Discharge and not just some lose/faulty connector.

I can assure you, we tried everything.... It is only that particular chair, not others, not the location, not movement, not pounding. Every once in a while I get the chair back (we moved it) to his desk, just to mess with him. It easily works from a range of 4-5 meters.
