When I’m in prep and have to do zoom meetings I like to have a bunch of search windows open in case I have to share my screen, that say things like “how to direct” “what is a gaffer” “what do lenses do” and see if anyone notices

Just landed at the place I’m staying for this current shoot and the glasses on the open shelves in the kitchen were all mixed up so I had to organize them of course ….and there’s one glass missing and I can’t stop staring at it it’s driving me absolutely insane

Listening to a bunch of podcasts with Stahelski re #JohnWick4 and it’s oddly comforting to hear even an action director with a lifelong stunt background is going “oh god please nothing go wrong” inside their head while filming stunt sequences

There’s some sort of girls martial arts class happening at my gym rn and the cute factor of these 20-odd little kids yelling ‘Kee-yah!’ is off the charts

Why hasn’t the success of JOHN WICK led to a renaissance of action movies with fancy DPs and all our favorite punching people on IMAX screens???? There should be ten franchises with a movie star surrounded by people like Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White with good lighting.

Really loved Steven Kanter and Henry Loevner’s PEAK SEASON, a beautifully shot romcom set in Jackson Hole, WY. Claudia Restrepo and Derrick Joseph Deblasis are endlessly watchable and now I have to move to Wyoming I guess. #SXSW2023 #peakseason

I dreamt I was producing this guys movie and he was an insufferable pretentious asshole and I wanted to strangle him onset every day but I couldn’t quit cause I had gotten all the actors signed on and didn’t want to abandon them. Who wants to analyze?

Time= Money= Stunts.VFX.SFX.Makeup FX or prosthetics.Heavy extras scenes. Car work.Ensemble casts. Night work. Location work. Action heavy set pieces. Location-heavy scripts. Choreography and anything with music syncing. Oh man, where my production peeps at, what am I missing?

I had a meeting with a producer this morning and told him I think his 3.5 mill budgeted movie is more like 8 mill on paper and asked for more details on the production plan and he got offended and hung up on me.

Does the ‘long tail’ model of having the largest library catering to the most viewers still apply with streamers today? If so why do they cancel everything after 1-2 seasons?
