This is possibly the best and most useful article I have ever read in a journal. Credit to Jason Walker - a consultant anaesthetist in Bangor. Do you know him ? If so, thank him profusely!!!

You may have noticed Willie Rennie asks about mental health support quite often at ; over the Easter weekend he's running all 117 miles of the Fife coastal path to raise money for . That's more than four marathons, in three days.

This. Taken directly from a letter from a family member about her sister (with delirium) in hospital. Her sister had been in 7 different wards - not because of diagnostic/clinical need BTW. Heartbreaking. Let’s think about the person, not the bed.

I present the Fourth Law of Admission Avoidance... without access to home carers to support families, many (if not most) Admission Avoidance efforts end up pissing in the wind.

Main omission is a comment along the lines of "a dull meeting where I didn't learn much". Why do we feel it necessary to write positive reflections if they aren't warranted.

Conjouring a cunning plan to keep a patient at home (rather than admitting them) can take hours and hours and hours, and multiple phone calls, voicemail messages, and waiting for calls back. Hence, I present The Second Law of Admission Avoidance from ....HT !

Lots of people asking whether the reference in my article in Anaesthesia News is real. Of course it is.

This is certainly the best tweet I've ever read and I'm willing to fight anyone who says otherwise.

Love this! What a difference it would make if people came into hospital dressed and with their own walking aid!
