I think I finally understand why 1Password's iOS 8 extension prompts for my password instead of using Touch ID: http://mjtsai.com/blog/2014/09/18/1password-5-touch-id-and-safariapp-extensions/ …
@mjtsai sorry, I forgot to mention in my comment that the extension is a completely separate process from the main app.

@roustem Still a mystery why the app sometimes makes me type when not using the keychain and in situations where it wouldn't be auto-quit. - View other replies

@mjtsai We currently revert to master password for any error returned by LocalAuth. For example, when Touch ID is shown and iPhone sleeps. -
@roustem Not sure how to parse that. The phone is not sleeping with the Touch ID prompt shown. But I am sleeping it between app uses. - View other replies

@mjtsai Let 1Password lock and show Touch ID, then let iPhone sleep. After you unlock iPhone, 1Password will ask for master password. -
@roustem Makes sense. That's not the problem I was seeing. But, anyway, it works fine when I enable the keychain.

@roustem I'm glad to hear that you plan to document that better. -
@mjtsai We are reworking the settings completely because pretty much everyone was confused. -

@lucvandal@mjtsai Et tu, Luc?

@roustem Given that, it's obvious that the extension will make you type every time unless you enable the keychain.
