I was truly fortunate to work on this fascinating project! I learned so much during the process and am positive that this could serve as a guide for the field to move forward and improve. Thank you all and mainly & for being amazing mentors!

An ambitious crowd-sourcing project gave research teams the same 5 hypotheses to test. The results argue for more humility in how we generalize study findings. my latest w/bonus wine reference!

I've posted a new version of that separates the R code from the conceptual material to help it flow more easily, and adds a lot of new examples in the R chapters. As always, comments welcome!

Some discussion about prereg invokes different perspectives on what is the problem to solve, and which changes to research practices are best suited to solve it. There is no one solution, but for me, there is a clear order of priority for testing and scaling interventions. 1/

Happy to elaborate. Think of preregistration of analysis plans as hypothesizing, data analysis, and scenario planning all rolled into one and without knowing what the data are. This creates a novel decision-making situation. 1/

The hackathon is in a month, and some who have never attended one might feel insecure/unqualified. At least I did before , so I decided to write about my thoughts/experience in case they can help someone overcome those feelings.
