@bizzyunderscore It's enforced via XPC services and entitlements. A separate process does the actual work on behalf of the API. - View other replies

@bizzyunderscore That XPC service, running in a sandbox, will refuse connections from apps without proper entitlements. -
@bizzyunderscore Sure, there are ways around it, but that requires modifying system files. Not something you can expect a user to do.

@rosyna the problem is some things bizarrely require sandboxing (eg CWWiFiClient) so even removing the MAS requirement doesn't always help.
