Guessing you've never read my words. Here, I'll help... you can interpret my words yourself. Going to the source is better than speculation. (Disclaimer; I don't actually care if internet strangers like me.) The person I care about is my kid. She likes me.https://4thwavenow.com/2017/11/24/a-careful-step-into-a-field-of-landmines/ …

Jenny, I'm not interested in arguing about your beliefs. I'm arguing whether or not omitting your affiliation with the group was ethical. You yourself were upset they didn't mention it:https://twitter.com/Jennifer_star/status/1009270068218232832?s=19 …

My affiliation with the group was that I found
@4th_WaveNow via another homeschooling mom who was also concerned about medically transitioning minors. Then, the owner of 4th allowed me to write a piece about my experience. Scary. I know. Super unethical. Grab your fainting couch.1 reply 0 retweets 19 likes -

I think your concerns, as you yourself state them in the article, go beyond just trans kids. I think the group's concerns go beyond that. I think readers should have been presented that information to decide for themselves.

What are the concerns you think "go beyond" trans kids?

The article wasn't an evaluation of other claims about politics. If a journalist doesn't think a source is lying about their experience, why should they have to spend time interrogating all of that person's beliefs about the world?

Journalism should be interested in all experiences that shed light on a story, not just the experiences of people who have the "correct" opinions about their experiences.

I don't see how this is a response to me saying "You should have included this woman's experience in your coverage". I think her experience is relevant to the topic and should have been included.

Lots of reasons why something "relevant to the topic" might be cut...but I think you are implying that including those views would have made this part of the story less credible.

"Here is a kid who thought they were trans and here's her mother who think trans people are a threat to civil rights and is affiliated with a group who is obsessed with "'trans Ideology'. The two are unrelated."
