I learned to sew at school on a hand-driven one just like that! It was probably the same age too

When I was at uni I volunteered on a befriending scheme and used to visit a man on his 80s called Stan. He had worked as an upholsterer and he taught me to sew on the same kind of machine. It was all I knew how to use so I bought one in a street market when I moved back to London
