    “One of my parents said you’re always going to piss somebody off, just make sure it’s the right person.” Me, in tonight’s , talking to after I received a racist letter and book through the post (1/2)

    Geologist was told by Greater Manchester Police that they're refusing to investigate racist letters sent to him because there were no "reasonable lines of enquiry" - despite the letter being signed and an email address provided.

    We have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead on a range of open research projects and develop services in line with the University’s Open Research Statement, research strategy and funder policies You will be part of the Scholarly Communications Team and report to the Head of Research Data Management, but work across the team, Library and wider University. You would be joining a vibrant community of staff and students interested in open research at The University of Sheffield, with regular discussion events and a growing range of activities supporting different aspects of open research. You will have a strong understanding of the range of open research practices which are possible and how these are evolving in different disciplines. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills, to communicate clearly with researchers and be comfortable with cross-team working and developing relationships with other stakeholders, both academic and professional services, across the University.
