Another PhD paper out! We often talk about the treatment gap as an issue of limited SUPPLY of MH services. We tested if geographic accessibility of services predicts chances of seeking depression treatment in India. No association found. Need to focus on reasons for low DEMAND?

The last time entering the UK border as an EU country. After having spent the past week in productive meetings discussing African international collaborations, this makes me all the more sad. We're so much stronger together.

Prof Petrus de Vries: has an urgent need for interventions. We're not so interested in the brand name, we don't care if it's a Nike intervention or an Adidas intervention. We need something suitable our setting

So true, and these visa barriers are so counter productive. From the same piece:  “African applicants are over twice as likely to be refused a UK visa than applicants from any other part of the world.”

This is a great article and a fascinating sounding museum. 'More than any feeling, [disgust] is culturally conditioned. Everyone experiences disgust; but what disgusts you depends in large measure on what you are used to and what the people around you deem repellent.'

I see a lot of Psychology ECRs on Twitter discuss the extortionate costs of conference registration/travel. Throughout the first year of my PhD I started compiling a list of travel bursaries suitable for postgrads. Here's a short thread of open funding opportunities: 1/9
