Do you have any evidence to prove it would save lives? If imprisoning low level drug dealers is effective, why hasn’t the War on Drugs in the past 40 years significantly declined drug usage/overdoses?
Yeah but again...we’ve been pouring drug dealers into prisons for the past 40 years with no success. What you’re describing has proven to simply not work. There’s always going to be someone to fill the market vacuum.

Scroll up 1. Fentanyl is new and way more deadly it changes the balance 2. There is anecdotal evidence compared to other cities lax prosecution reduces prices and increases access. But it's cool let's just check in a year from now and reevaluate when we have more data and bodies

I'm almost positive we will get 4 full years of
@chesaboudin@MattHaneySF real world policy and ~3,000 drug killings to study in future years so it should be great data for academics to study lax prosecution impact on fentanyl availability
