When you block someone your respect there right of free speech but protecting your own right of choosing not to listen. It doesn't mean we're scared of what there saying, it just means, that we don't want to listen to it. end of.
-
That makes sense of a mute actually. With a block you are ensuring that not only are you not listening to what they are saying but you also want them to know you've no interest in them participating. It's a level further but still your choice.

Blocking people because you don't like their opinions is cowardice and ideological self-entitlement. Blocking was created for people who troll or harass others, not for showing yourself and others how cool you are by pointing fingers at "undesirable people".
-
No really it just means you don't want bullshit on your timeline.
-
And what defines as bullshit depends on the individual, so whatever they block depends on what they want to use Twitter for. Garbage is in the eye of the beholder.

Blocking a fireball just means your afraid of being -12 on hit
-
Can't you just parry and press on? Or is ideological advanced internet defense only available when you get enuff Fight Money? ....I miss Third Strike.

I try to avoid blocking, personally. Unfollowing works fine. The only accounts I block are spam accounts. I think another good use is to block contact from someone that is harassing you. I've been on the other end of a block, it's not a good feeling and hurts.

I think Blocking is preferable to "muting". Muting, the person ends up shouting into the void but doesn't know if they need to correct their shit.
-
No, shutting off people is how you prove them that you don't have an argument against them. Nobody is going "oh, some rando blocked me, I should rethink my life"

Blocking some one isn't you being scared, since a lot of the time if you block some one it's usually if their being creepy/being upsetting and not letting go.

Ah, sorta, but that's also a really self-indulgent way of viewing your own perspective. A lot of people do block others because they've got ideological differences and dislike opinions besides their own. The situation is not as simple as the blocker being justified by default.

When someone blocked me after I had emotionally breakdown & felt discouraged of my struggles - I felt like I’m a terrible or I’m much more like a monster than a human
-
I block people who are just mean and cruel, not because they are going through a lot. You're not garbage for breaking down, dear.
-
...And when someone said to me that “it’s my fault, I did this” - it really hurts me more and still been ashamed & judged more than support because they don’t believ my mental health

-
I know how that feels. I wish I am a lot more eloquent about this, because I struggle with it too, but they're the ones who don't have the strength to be there for you. You being here to talk about your breakdown? That's a lot of strength that a lot of people wish they could get.
