I think this is difficult. Suppose there are 1000 possible changes, and each lot only needs 2 for 100% gains. If we look at examples, they look like tiny effects "how many people had to walk *that* far?". 0.2% average gains. But in aggregate, we get the agricultural revolution.

Maybe… I doubt it's that un-discoverable though? And if it is that hard to detect or measure… we can never be sure it exists. We're just theorizing
