I've been trying to figure the essential _features_ of the The Ethereum (computer) vs. mere _implementation_ "details"; so far have come up with: 1. strong integrity protection for your code (customarily called "smart contract"), 2. strong availability for your code. (1/)

(4/) So, if I could, say, launch a traditional server onto an Earth's orbit, perhaps this would be "reasonably" as good a solution as Ethereum? Assuming the root account was disabled and the cost of shooting it down (physically) was high enough?

Something I've always wondered, what about when decentralized storage and compute is used for illegal activities? Beyond illegal and all the related jurisdictional issues, what about immoral, unethical things? What is the culpability of the participants?

Decentralization gives us resiliency. It's very difficult to take down the system. If a node goes down, there is always another one to take its place.

@G7685502036 got censorship resistance. Distributed means I can, without asking permission, put up a node, sync, and theoretically have chance of my processed block with my tx added to block chain. Permissioned networks, like@EOS, restrict who may process tx.@lukestokesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

The decentralization of ethereum is like SGX but without blindly trusting the CPU. Is there another way to ensure code integrity without relying on a "single root of trust"?
