What takes this from "huh, glitch" to "I'm not comfortable with this" is it was a highly opinionated political tweet. One I agree with, which arguably could be worse. I hope this really was some kind of algorithm hiccup and not @Twitter trying to push an agenda.

The small note above the tweet said "X replied" as if I follow her. But I don't, I doublechecked, and I've never heard of her.

A reply, to a person I don't follow, from a person I don't follow, who as best I can isn't followed by anyone I follow, and neither post was liked or retweeted by anyone I follow, showed up on my feed. There was no note about a promotion, and it didn't look like an ad.

Perhaps, some distant day, I'll revisit this again. Probably when I notice that my phone has IPv6 connectivity over the cellular network. But I don't know if that day will ever come. I fear CGNAT is one of the most permanent "temporary" solutions there is. (11/11)

Some of these are perhaps fixable, but most are not, and many don't even have a workaround and just mean straight-up loss of functionality (the big one being #3). This just isn't good enough. (10/)

8. Once I finally found a location other than my own home with functional IPv6 (a friend's house), I discovered that my home, for some unknown reason, isn't reachable anyway. This is likely my fault, but due to all of the above, it's not worth fixing. (9/)

7. My mother's Chromebook, for reasons unknown to myself or many Google searches, cannot connect to anything on the network over IPv6 unless logged in as guest. I have no idea why the currently logged in user affects the routing table, but here we are. (8/)

6. When IPv6 connectivity is lost, *nothing* is smart enough to try IPv4 as a fallback. It takes the AAAA record as the be all end all. All sorts of shit is effectively offline. (7/)

5. My ISP will occasionally decide to give me a totally different prefix out of the blue. Now my whole network has lost connectivity and I have to manually go to each device and renew the IP or just plain power-cycle it. (6/)
