🧵on nursing home scandal: On April 14 2020, Berna Lee contacted my office, fearing that her mother, residing in a nursing home in my district, had been negligently exposed to COVID. Berna had been stonewalled. 1/

The easy path is to make promises you can’t keep, control the narrative, seek institutional protection, and raise millions from the same donors who supported Cuomo. The more challenging path is to seek full accountability and seize this moment to fix our broken system. 3/

We won’t get there if keeps Cuomo’s loyalists who specialize in privatizing public goods and services as they quietly monetize their positions. We’ll never get there if we go back to cutting backroom deals, trading in policial currencies to maintain power. 2/

Governor has an incredibly hard job ahead of her as she inherits a broken system and understaffed state government. At the same time, it’s an incredible opportunity for bold leadership to restore public capital, invest in our people, root out corruption 1/

Also, the average income of the bottom 50% have not changed significantly since the 1960s while productivity has gone ⬆️ This means the top 1% are extracting all their wealth from the bottom, and we are living in the worse income inequality regime in history.

We also need a memorial for nursing home victims. It’s one of the ways to acknowledge our mistakes and take an institutional stance against ageism.

Week 6 recovery is going well! I’m at almost 90 degree bent and scar tissues smoothing out nicely!

There are dozens of ways wage theft can happen. It can be as simple as working overtime but getting paid your normal hourly rate. It can also involve being asked to work off the clock, not getting worker’s compensation for an injury, or not being paid for a meal break.

Agreed. Here's my 2018 oped on why canceling student debt is a racial & economic justice issue:

I agree with ⁦⁩ - we need strong recusal policies to prevent anyone in Hochul’s administration from monetizing the executive office, esp on corporate taxes, corporate wage gaps, etc.

Nothing but love for our Ktown small biz leaders and workers! Hopefully, Hochul’s administration can administer the support our local businesses desperately need. – at Koreatown

Legislators legislate, and executives execute. But after ten years of austerity budgets and gutting of public agencies, we can’t seem to execute anything. We are good at governing through headlines as tenants, immigrants, and working families are dying.

It looks like there’s an internal corporate democrat memo circulating to tell governors not to “discourage income” by taxing the rich. To be clear, we are discouraging extreme wealth gaps, the concentration of money and power, and corporate looting.

We're in discussions with the Governor + Senate to ensure NYers are able to stay safe and remain in their homes. We're also working with our partners to quickly distribute funds provided by ERAP and the rental assistance program we established for those who fall outside of ERAP

It’s funny how the mask is now off and Cuomo is just being an explicit blatant sociopath and not even trying to hide it at all

Yes. Commissioners swear to uphold the law and enforce statutes. During a pandemic where a state of emergency is called, the Commissioner has the power to give directives. He helped Cuomo issue directives that killed New Yorkers and withheld information from the legislature.

I urge all those who have donated to former Governor Cuomo's 2022 campaign to request the return of their contributions. Satisfying the former Governor’s desire for revenge is not a permitted campaign expenditure.

I don’t have $18million to defend myself against Cuomo’s “wrath,” but I do have the truth on my side. Cuomo lied about older adults dying to sell more books, and no amount of money can save him from this crime against humanity.
