What happens when corporations own politicians? We end up in full austerity mode while criminalizing poverty, sending 500 cops on subways to “clean up” folks who we failed to take care of bc we are too busy cutting checks for giant corporations to “create jobs” (never happens)
How "small individual donors" is defined is why we're in the mess we're in now. That's how entrenched insiders stack the deck today. Public financing levels the playing field and let's legislators actually legislate instead of spending every waking minute fundraising.
