    ביחד עם עוד עורכים וכתבים מצויינים בטיימס) זמן לבדוק את העובדות ולעסוק בשלל עניינים שדרשו פיתרון בפרשה הסופר-סודית והרגישה הזו. אף גורם לא דחף אותנו לפרסם אלא הפוך- ניסו למנוע מאיתנו את הפרסום. ברגע שהעורכים הגיעו למסקנה שהכל בדוק ופתור- פרסמנו.

    פרסם את הסיפור דווקא עכשיו- בגלל ביידן, בגלל טרמפ, בגלל איראן ועוד סיבות, חלקן מנוגדות לחלוטין זו עם זו. פרשן ידען אחד בלט במיוחד כשכתב ש"מדובר בהדלפה ממוסדת. כלומר, ה-CIA העביר את המידע על ההתנקשות בבכיר אל-קאעידה לכתבי העיתון, אך קודם לכן טרח לוודא שהפרסום לא יגרום לנזק מבצעי,
