    It's been years, but I love whenever Rdio comes up it always conjures such fond nostalgia.

    It's been almost a year since my last shows, I was thinking this morning when I can finally see a concert again what artists/band would merit being the first show I'd willingly attend? Guess it'd depends on when.

    My mantra this week that nobody expected Twitter, Insta, et. al. to survive long enough to get a hardship drivers license.Kept waiting for their Friendster 🪦reaper moment that never arrived. I should've just stayed on Xanga. This industry has been as destructive as smoking.

    i feel like what "tiktok has a refreshing frankness compared to other social media" misses is all platforms have an arc; there was a time when blogs, twitter, instagram (stories especially), youtube were all way more verité/off the cuff than they are now

    This is a succinct framing of what grinds my gears about solely computational approaches to “mitigating algorithmic bias”. It’s not like a better objective function is gonna cut it

    Reminder: Bias is important, but it isn’t the only type of algorithmic harm. And any audit that isn’t trying to uncover and evaluate as wide a scope of harms as possible is only covering for the developer, not protecting people.

    Growing up w/bilingual folks & teaching adult ESL in college gave me a lot of empathy for the 2nd language learner experience. But participating in Clubhouse chats w/ native Finnish speakers has amplified it. It's wild to know what you wanna say but not be able to say it.

    Naomi looked unbeatable and kept her foot on the gas. Sky is the limit for her. Brady looked good despite the loss though. Impressive to see a former *college player* able to elevate their game to play consistently at this level. No small feat.

    I'm glad for the reissue labels that put their stuff on streaming services, because it sends me on rabbit holes that lead me to buy more vinyl I'd never hear otherwise.
