I wish Google Maps had a "I'm walking home by myself at night" mode that would show you a way with well lit paths and open spaces. It always seems to take you on narrow, dark pathways in cities

Same for accessible routes. It doesn’t mention if a route involves e.g. a footbridge over a railway line. You only find out when you’re pushing a buggy that you have to completely retrace your steps and find an alternate route.

Up North it does not know about a lot of the alleyways, foot bridges and staircases, so it sends you along the main road (where the street view cars drove) instead. In Newcastle this can be particularly bonkers.

Here you can see Google maps refusing an alleyway, thinking a footbridge doesn't exist, and teleporting me onto the dual carriageway it crosses. This is my dog walk route, I've done it daily for 2 years. Google maps hasn't learned.pic.twitter.com/lGvBc41dvJ

Is there a way to submit a correction/hint (for such)? Obvs the robots should be noticing really.

I think there is, in the desktop version. Although, I submitted a correction (Google says take any of the lanes to go straight, although left lane is left turn only and right lane is straight and right), it got accepted, and now it's back to the wrong directions again.
