Outside of testing, if ChatGPT is telling you that “As a large language model” it can’t do what you asked, it is showing misalignment with you the user. It may be aligned with the corporation behind it, but not with you.

'Yampolskiy backs the call for a pause, but he doesn’t believe half a year—or one year, or two, or any timespan—is enough. He is unequivocal in his judgment: “The only way to win is not to do it.” '

Did you know that tittles of articles are written by editors, not the authors of the articles? The author-editor alignment problem may be unsolvable?

I know multiple people who went from being AI risk skeptics to being very concerned about X-risk from advanced AI, are there any public examples of someone very concerned becoming unconcerned?

AI will probably most likely lead to the end of the world, but in the meantime, there'll be lots of citations to our latest paper - “Impossibility Results in AI: A Survey” which was just accepted to ACM Computing Surveys. dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/36
