    My son and I just replayed Karl Marx's only recorded chess game, in 1867. Marx (white) plays high-risk King's Gambit (popular in 19thC), sacrificing pieces for position. Marx wins with agressive play, cunning traps but several errors. Verdict: a good club player but no master.
