Postmaster General Louis DeJoy will testify before the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Aug. 24, panel Chairwoman Carolyn B. Maloney announced. His appearance will come after the House on Saturday expects to vote on legislation that would halt postal operations changes.

This should not be a surprise. Postmaster Generals are independently appointed and Trump has no power to prevent him from appearing. It will be a brutal grilling as they have been whenever the USPS has tried to reduce service or had other problems in the past.

Given the line-up of prior hearings like this, I would not surprise me if he appears on a panel with the Chairman of the Board of Governors. Normally a second panel includes someone from GAO, the USPS OIG, and the Chair of the Postal Regulatory Commission.
